Tell us about yourself and your journey since graduating from Salem University.

My name is Ogaji Emmanuel Victor. I graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in Accounting from Salem University in 2019. After graduation, I pursued my postgraduate studies and earned a Master’s degree in Accounting from Veritas University. Currently, I work with the Public Complaints Commission, where I play an active role in promoting transparency, accountability, and social justice within public service.

 

How did Salem University prepare you for life after graduation?

Salem University prepared me holistically. It wasn’t just about academics—it was about building character. The environment taught me resilience, adaptability, and unwavering faith. These values have shaped the way I approach work, challenges, and life itself. Salem gave me a strong foundation that continues to guide my decisions and actions.

 

What has been your biggest lesson or discovery since graduation?

One of my greatest discoveries has been that your environment can either limit or launch you. At Salem, I learned to rise above limitations, stay focused on purpose, and lean into grace when things got tough. My experience there helped me uncover my true potential and gave me the courage to pursue it fully.

 

What advice would you give to current and prospective students of Salem University?

Make the most of your time at Salem. Engage deeply in your academics, but also pay attention to your personal growth. The world is looking for people who are principled, passionate, and prepared. Salem University offers all three—if you embrace the journey.
