2022 NATIONAL EDUCATION SUMMIT AND AWARDS BROCHURE

Preface and Background

The National Education Summit and Awards is a privately owned sector initiative that offers a big knowledge exchange and networking opportunity to all participants and speakers who will share their thoughts, and figure out new methods to impart education in Nigeria.
The summit brings together Federal and State ministry of education officials, educational bodies, education leaders, edupreneurs, education investors, chairmen, CEOs and MDs of schools, corporate organizations, colleges and universities, edu-startups and education technology providers on one platform.
At the end of each summit, a communiqué is issued to the office of the Honourable Minister of Education on the findings, discussions and recommendations on solutions that can be deployed to advance education delivery in Nigeria.

As a private sector initiative of Education advancement and Innovations, it works to advance lasting solutions to improve education and expand economic opportunities in Nigeria. Economic growth and development is directly linked with qualitative education. Hence, the initiative’s work covers designing, implementing, and evaluating resourceful and innovative programs for educational advancement in Nigeria.

It is dedicated to educational advancement, communication, development, marketing, and advancement services to transform lives and society. We engage individual, colleges, universities and independent schools to promote good will, informed advocacy and continuing support for education in Nigeria.

The 2022 edition was the second edition with the theme “Re-modelling Education for 21st Century Relevance; Pathway for Education in Nigeria”. This year’s edition witnessed a prestigious gathering of over 1000 individuals from Federal and State Ministry of Education and others as earlier stated. The event had present seasoned international speakers in the field of education alongside other seasoned Nigerian speakers who provided a comprehensive and detailed review of the state-of-the-art mechanisms of knowledge sharing in ICT and digital technology with the sole aim of transforming education by creating a new culture of learning and access to information cum directions for the future of education in Nigeria.

The 2022 edition under the auspices of its theme (as earlier stated) was elucidated by different scholars under these eight key points:

1. Leadership and future direction of education in Nigeria.
2. Education funding in Nigeria; linking resources and learning.
3. Managing education systems during a pandemic.
4. Improving teachers’ welfare; attracting, developing and retaining effective teachers.
5. Beyond literacy and numeracy; rethinking the curriculum.
6. Introduction of technology in instructional delivery to enhance teaching and learning.
7. The digital divide in education; who has access, and how has access changed?
8. The effect of new digital technologies for the future of education in Nigeria.

The initiative has a team of Advisory Board and Management among whom Prof. Alewo Johnson Akubo, the VC, Salem University, is one.
