The B.Sc. Ed. Business Education programme is designed to produce professionally qualified teachers and business educators with the knowledge, skills, and competence needed for teaching, self-employment, and leadership in business-related fields. It blends general education with core business and pedagogical training to equip graduates to function effectively in various sectors, from classrooms to corporate offices, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
This programme provides students with a robust foundation in both education and business disciplines. It trains individuals to become competent teachers in secondary schools and colleges, while also preparing them for a wide range of business-related careers. With a focus on practical application, students are introduced to key business concepts in accounting, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship, alongside core pedagogical techniques.
Through this dual emphasis, the programme fosters a deep understanding of the economic and business systems of society, enabling students to become proactive participants in Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement. Learners also develop soft skills such as leadership, communication, and adaptability, which are essential for thriving in both the public and private sectors. The structure of the programme encourages innovation, financial literacy, and the use of digital technologies in business practice.
Ultimately, graduates of the B.Sc. Ed. Business Education are well-equipped to teach, start and manage their own ventures, or take on leadership roles in business environments. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, ensuring relevance in today’s dynamic job market.
