The B.Sc. Economics programme offers a rigorous and intellectually stimulating exploration of how societies allocate resources, manage economic systems, and make critical decisions. It equips students with the analytical, quantitative, and communication skills necessary to understand and solve complex economic problems. Students gain a solid foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, and quantitative techniques, preparing them to analyze real-world issues such as inflation, unemployment, poverty, income distribution, globalization, and fiscal and monetary policy. The programme blends theoretical frameworks with practical application, positioning graduates for roles in policy, finance, research, and academia.
The Economics degree at Salem University is designed to develop a deep understanding of economic principles, data analysis, and critical thinking skills required for addressing contemporary global and national issues. With a curriculum structured to expose students to theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving, it emphasizes local relevance, global perspective, and ethical leadership. Students are trained to use data and econometric tools to evaluate policy outcomes and forecast economic trends. The programme supports the development of competencies in research, communication, policy evaluation, and public and private sector consultancy.
