The college of education is an academic unit within the university that focuses on training of teachers, educational research and other related fields. It has different department that specialize in different aspect of education like educational measurement and evaluation, computer science education, social studies education, English education, educational management, business education. The college also collaborate with other schools and educational organization to support teacher’s development. Hence, offers a crucial role in preparing our global leaders with range of academic programmed that can advance their knowledge in field of education.
PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION
The Philosophy and Mission Statement underlying the programs in College of Education aims at achieving the goals and objectives of the National Policy on Education as derived from the National Policy. The Philosophy is in turn based on the following general aspirations of Nigerian as contained in Section I Paragraph 3 of the National Policy on Education:

The College of Education is in tune with Salem University’s mission of transformational academic revolution as well as national development needs. It is established to ensure that “Global Leaders” are provided with requisite skills and knowledge that will enhance excellent performance in the education management upon graduation. Thus, our graduates can contribute meaningfully to development at all levels and in every aspect of national and international life.
OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE
The general aim and objectives of the College of Education are in consonance with the Nigerian national development goals. The graduates must therefore be resourceful, creative, knowledgeable, and able to contribute significantly to national development. The specific objectives of the college are as follows:
1.To equip prospective teachers with proper leadership qualities
2.To provide the knowledge, skills, and attitudes which enable them to contribute to the growth and development of their communities in particular and their nation in general.
3.To impart sound mastery of the subject areas and the ability to impart such knowledge to their students.
4.To impart problem-solving skills in education.
5.To motivate teachers to be conscientious and efficient classrooms administrators.
6.To enable graduate teachers fit into the social life of the community and society at large and enhance their commitment to national objectives.
7.To make proper teachers acquire the spirit of enquiry, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
8.To enhance commitment to the teaching profession.
9.To equip graduates with the skills to apply new technologies.
