The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Health is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to prepare students for impactful careers in public health practice and research. This full-time program follows Salem University’s commitment to interdisciplinary, community-focused, and evidence-based education that emphasizes equity, ethics, and excellence in all spheres of public health practice.

Students engage in traditional lectures, seminars, and interactive tutorials while gaining hands-on experience through field placements in communities and primary health care centres. The curriculum also includes industrial attachments with NGOs, health ministries, and international health agencies, providing students with real-world exposure to public health challenges and solutions.

Practical skill acquisition is enhanced through simulation labs and workshops, while student-led public health campaigns and outreach programs develop leadership and community engagement capabilities. The program culminates in research mentorship and capstone projects that allow students to apply their knowledge to address specific public health issues. This comprehensive approach ensures graduates are well-equipped with the scientific, analytical, and managerial skills needed to plan, implement, and evaluate public health interventions while developing the leadership capacity necessary for health policy formulation and health systems strengthening.
