Salem University, Lokoja is set to go into a strategic partnership with the United States of America Embassy in Nigeria in order to strengthen the academic and administrative profile of the university.
This was revealed through the visit by the Information officer of the American Embassy, Mr. Russel Brooks recently who led the delegation. He said part of the job of the public affairs unit is to ensure that information about opportunities being offered by the embassy are being relayed to appropriate quarters as at when due and promised to carry Salem University along in order to participate in the educational programmes of the Embassy.
Mr. Brooks equally recommended the management to pay the embassy a visit in order to rub minds with the various departments and benefit from the programmes being executed by them. He thanked the management for the warm welcome and wished the university well in their future endeavours. In her earlier address, the Acting Vice chancellor of the University, Professor Dorcas Oluwade thanked the delegation for the visit and commended the effort of the American Embassy over the years in contributing to the development of Nigeria. She stated that in view of this, the University is ready to partner with the embassy for the design and implementation oflaudable programmes especially as it concerns education, water and sanitation, and further reiterated the readiness of the University to be part of the drive for the industrial revolution in kogi state and Nigeria in general with the engagement of scholars in the university in cutting edge research, innovations and impactful corporate social responsibility.
