ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR THE COLLEGE OF PEACE AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Entry Point

Global Leaders may be admitted into the 100 level or the 200 level of their course of study, depending on their entry qualifications whetherUMEor direct entry (A- level, NCE, OND/ND).

General Entry Requirements

Candidate for admission into the undergraduate programmes in the College must have O-level credits in five subjects namely; English Language, Mathematics, and three required subjects in not more than two sittings in the West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE), National Examination Council (NECO) and the General Certificate of Education (GCE). In some cases, a credit pass in Agricultural Science may be accepted in lieu of Biology.

 

In addition to the above, it is mandatory that the candidate passes the University Matriculation Examination organized by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board at an acceptable level.

 

For candidates to qualify for direct entry, they must have A – level passes in two relevant subjects in addition to five credits passes at the O level, which must include English Language and Mathematics.  Candidates with reasonable OND/ND or NCE passes may also be considered for admission via direct entry.

‘A’level Entry requirements

‘A’ level or equivalent in Economics and any one of  Business Management,

Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography and Government. OND, NCE and related professional certificates approved bySalemUniversitymay also be accepted for three-year programmes.  

English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other social sciences 
Regional Integration Diplomacy,Criminology and Penology,Peace and Development Studies,

 

Gender and Women Studies,

Political Science and Public Administration.

 

 

5 ‘O’Level subjects from maximum two sittings in English Language, Mathematics,Government, and any two of Economics, Accounting, Business Methods, History, Commerce, Geography and Literature in English for four year programmes 

 

‘A’level Entry requirements

‘A’ level or equivalent in Government and one of Economics, Business Management, English, CRK,  Geography, in addition to

5 ‘O’ level Credit Passes .OND, NCE and related professional certificates approved bySalemUniversitymay also be accepted for three-year programmes

English Language, Mathematics,Government and any other one from Economics , Geography, CRK, History or  and  other social sciences
